About

Learn about my inspiration to
lead the shift for AI in education.

Hi, I’m Ashley Evans, a tenured professor (and prior Program Chair) of Software Development & Cloud Computing. I help colleges and learning institutions to design AI teaching & assessment strategies that are rigorous and student-driven.

I'm excited by the challenges of AI in education, and how educators can respond by creating practical, hands-on learning experiences that help students navigate our rapidly changing, AI-infused educational landscape.

Background

I spent the early part of my career at GM, Siemens, and Lockheed Martin before finding my calling in the classroom. As a tenured, fully online professor, I faced the AI disruption firsthand, built three practical frameworks, and launched Teach AI Ready to deliver faculty workshops and keynotes nationwide. Everything I do comes back to one goal: empowering faculty to teach confidently in the AI era.

Leadership

As a tenured professor, I'm in the trenches figuring out how to teach software and cloud computing without losing students to ChatGPT. I design curricula that balance modern tech with old-school critical thinking. I help other educators move past the hype to find practical, student-centered ways to manage AI in their courses.

Scholarship & Press

At UCF's 2025 "Teaching and Learning with AI" Conference, I presented Designing Assignments That AI Can't Solve. The session became the most-attended of the event and sparked wider discussion across higher-ed.

My writing and frameworks have been featured across higher-ed publications:

Let's Collaborate

I'm booking speaking engagements and faculty workshops for the 2026–27 academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer). If your institution is exploring AI-integrated teaching or designing AI-resistant assignments, I'd love to help.
